We are a family run business established in 1978. We like to specialise in brand name products such as DRENNAN, MIDDY, MAVER, SHIMANO, FOX, ESP, NASH, just to name a few. We pride ourselves in offering quality goods and an excellent service; just ask anyone that has used us
We are always at hand to offer friendly advise about tackle, rigs, hook tying and the basics of fishing in general
We stock a vast amount of baits and groundbaits in an ever growing market, we also specialise in the range of YORKSHIRE BAITS done by the paste meister himself Rob Hitchens a sure bet in any match or just a day out fishing.We offer local knowledge about rivers, canals and commercial venues, like rules , what baits are catching at the moment and cost , so you can be prepared before you venture out.
You can also purchase from here the Notts Anglers Association books or renue your old one, we also carry the NAA members friends tickets.
We have built up over the years a reputation for top quality fresh bait. Previous owner Bill Welch who had the shop for 25 years spent long days and nights picking skins from casters and preparing the maggots for sale, this reputation got around and anglers would travel miles for top bait, Bill the new owner's father (75 now) still plays a role in bait preparation and is still considered as one of the best in the bussiness even now. We stock Red, White, Bronze and Mixed colours and also Disco maggots, we stock Pinkies and squatts depending on the season, Bloodworm and joker is available to order.Worms are sold in handy pots or can be ordered in 1kg size. We have a vast range of deadbaits available all year round but carry more stock in the winter months.
We also repair pole breakages , most "accidents" can be fixed so dont despair, bring it in and we will give you a quote.
We are now breaking into the match scene more vigourously than before , we have sponsered anglers fishing the open matches for us and now have a match team operating under our banner from the shop, and hopefully we can progress to bigger things in the future.
We also offer a mail order service that is based on the same principles as we have in the shop, we are adding new products every week to the website so bear with us, if you cannot find what you want please call us we may be able to help over the phone.
We now have a qualified angling coach assigned to the shop who is also CRB checked , so if you feel you need help and assistance for more knowledge or a day out fishing with a coach please contact us for more details. Just pop in, or call us, if its only for advice our friendly staff will be pleased to help.
